This website aims to provide a forum to communicate with whoever is interested in reading my writing and wishes to share a response. Books are shared experiences between writer and reader, so the writer needs to receive her readers’ thoughts and to establish a connection with them.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy my works.

Tuscany in September
I’ve just returned from a wonderfully productive and enjoyable workshop in the beautiful hill village of Cetona, initiated by my colleague, film documentarist and artist Ludovica Fales, to develop the projects (some documentary, some fiction) of 5 very different filmmakers. On the first day, after Ludo’s relaxing yoga session, she and I each provided a group storytelling session to start things off. After that we worked one to one on each individual’s script for the remaining days, coming together for a final session, followed by a memorable dinner in an excellent local restaurant. In this beautiful house full of books, paintings, and fascinating artefacts that Ludo has inherited from her grandmother, we cooked, ate, laughed and exchanged stories. Between sessions people explored the steep streets of the mountain village, and we were shown the treasures of the local museum dating from Neolithic times to the Etruscans, and the 50 thousand volume library, by a justifiably proud Mayor.
I look forward to whatever comes next.
New Novels
My new novel ‘A Corsican Tale’ was published in October, together with a reissue of a YA novel, ‘Out of Step’ set 25 years earlier in the late 1980s. Both novels take place on the wildly beautiful island of Corsica, reflected in the covers designed by Jamie Keenan. Both books are love stories that also reflect the troubled history of that tormented isle. Out of Step forms a kind of prequel to A Corsican Tale, although each book can be read entirely independently.
Book Launch
On October 14th we launched the two novels at Baranis, a bar in Chancery Lane offering fine food and wine and a great atmosphere, with readings from Bernice Stegers to a crowd of friends old and new – a thoroughly joyful and memorable evening.
